Joy of Giving

Joy of Giving is a flagship social outreach initiative of Samatva, the Social Responsibility Cell of SCMHRD, rooted in compassion, inclusion, and shared joy. The event is closely linked with Inspirit, another initiative of Samatva, where members engage with underprivileged children through regular teaching and mentoring sessions. Joy of Giving serves as an extension of this bond, celebrating the spirit of generosity by fulfilling the wishes of the children we teach.

The journey of Joy of Giving began with understanding what truly brings happiness to each child. Members of Samatva carefully collected the preferences of the children, noting down the gifts they wished to receive. With these preferences in place, the team approached students from both the junior and senior MBA batches of SCMHRD, inviting them to sponsor gifts and become a part of this meaningful cause. The overwhelming response from the student community reflected a strong culture of empathy and collective responsibility.

This year’s Joy of Giving witnessed remarkable success, as over 80 gifts were sponsored, ensuring that every child received something they truly desired. Each gift represented more than a material token it symbolized care, attention, and the joy of being remembered.

The celebration was further enriched on the day of the event through collaborations with the Sports Committee and the Cultural Committee of SCMHRD. The children participated enthusiastically in a variety of fun-filled games that fostered laughter, teamwork, and excitement. Adding to the festive spirit, cultural performances were organized exclusively for the children, creating moments of wonder, cheer, and celebration.

As the children received their gifts, their smiles became a powerful reminder of the impact of small acts of kindness. The event concluded on a heartwarming note, leaving behind memories filled with happiness, gratitude, and togetherness.

Joy of Giving once again reaffirmed Samatva’s commitment to social responsibility proving that when a community comes together with compassion at its core, even the simplest gestures can create lasting joy.
