Management Committee @ SCMHRD
The Management Committee at SCMHRD is dedicated to providing students with a comprehensive MBA experience through various initiatives designed to nurture leadership, managerial skills, and business acumen. One of its flagship events, Yashasvi, is a two-legged event that includes the Annual Management Conclave and case study competitions. Yashasvi is derived from Sanskrit, which translates to ‘To Be Successful.’ As we set milestones in the various aspects of life and endeavour to achieve them, the hunger to be ‘Yashasvi’ fuels our ambitions and acts as the wind beneath our wings. It exemplifies the attitude of competition, excellence, and growth that is necessary for success in the business world.
Yashasvi is a testament to the Management Committee’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to learn, network, and push their limits. The Management Conclave is the event’s centrepiece, featuring eminent speakers from various fields who share their insights on the latest developments in the business world. The event covers a wide range of topics, such as digital transformation, sustainability, and other issues from the business world, providing a unique opportunity for students to gain invaluable knowledge and insights from industry experts. This year, the event also included a panel discussion on Synergizing Industry 5.0: Collaborative Strategies across Industries to Enhance Business Performance, providing experts with a platform to discuss and deliberate on the current economic scenario and its impact on businesses.
The case study competitions at Yashasvi are another highlight of the event, which allows students to apply what they have learned to actual situations. The competitions attract teams from premier B-Schools nationwide, providing a platform for constructive competition and peer learning. This year, there were eight case study competitions, each focusing on a specific domain – HR, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Analytics, Product Management, Consulting, and Infrastructure Development and Management. The new case study competition introduced this year, gr-IDM-ap, focusing on testing infrastructure development and management skills, received a great response from the participants.
The event provides students with opportunities to learn and network and motivates them to push themselves and strive for excellence.
The Management Committee at SCMHRD understands that the ultimate goal of pursuing an MBA is to secure a suitable placement. To help students achieve this goal, they developed a comprehensive placement training program called A.C.E. (Aspire-Conquer-Excel). A.C.E. is designed to prepare students for both summer and final placements, and it is conducted in two phases – for the junior and the senior batch, respectively. This ensures that students receive personalised training and mentoring based on their experience and requirements. The program covers activities, from allocating personal mentors who guide the students throughout the placement process to conducting knowledge transfer sessions, mock group discussions, and mock personal interviews. Through A.C.E., students are well-equipped with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to ace the placement selection process and embark on a successful career in the corporate world.
The Management Committee also introduced Ace the Case, an innovative initiative that serves as a platform where past winners of case competitions share their winning strategies and insights. This allows students to uncover the art of strategic problem-solving and position themselves for success in future competitions.
Additionally, the Committee conducts the SISP (Summer Internship Success Program), enabling first-year students to interact with their seniors and gain insights into working in a professional setting. The program offers a platform for the upcoming interns to prepare for their summer internships, easing their anxieties and providing the necessary guidance.
The Management Committee at SCMHRD is a vital source of opportunities, offering diverse initiatives to help students excel in their MBA journey. With a focus on holistic development and a willingness to go the extra mile, the Committee strives to help students achieve their goals and reach the top.
