Cultural Committee
To be creative means to be in love with life. You can be creative only if you love life enough that you want to enhance its beauty, you want to bring a little more music to it, a little more poetry to it, a little more dance to it.” – Osho
The Cultural Committee is one of the functioning committees in SCMHRD. We bring to campus the arena, we bring you the gig, and we bring to you a reason to come out of your shells: fists thumpin’, feet tappin’, and lips synchin’.
A culmination of music, dance, and dramatics, the Cultural Committee aims to build a bit of reverb, unison, and action into academic rigor. The Committee provides everyone with much-needed respite and encourages them to pursue their quiescent talents; it also actively organizes activities and events for students of diverse batches to participate in. To increase the festive spirit among the students and faculty members and bring them together with a sense of unity and positivity, the Cultural Committee also takes measures to commemorate festivals like Independence Day, Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Teacher’s Day, Dussehra, Christmas, Onam, etc. The Committee very prominently encourages not only its members but all the students and faculties to explore and continuously improve their talents.
Furthermore, the committee has a social media presence on Instagram and Facebook, which the committee members conscientiously and frequently update. The Cultural Committee also collaborates with other student committees, facilitating them to organize campus events that take place throughout the year, such as the NEEV Launch, Yashasvi Theme Launch, and Alumni Footprints.
“A bit of Cultcom lingers in each one of my batchmates when we dance around the kitchen in the refrigerator lights, hum while lost on a long drive upstate, or prepare (sometimes too dramatically) infront of the mirror for that big interview” – SCMHRD Alumnus
