PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES:

- To enhance the quality of business management skills by providing a workable model for the entrepreneurs and business managers.

- To give an exposure to the most important issues facing innovative start-up companies.

- Impart to the entrepreneurs and owner-managers an essential set of managerial concepts that equips them with skills and knowledge to successfully conduct business in competitive and fast changing economic and business environment

- To emphasize the role and importance of business opportunity identification and assessment, business planning process and funding issues.

- To impart intrapreneurship skills to managers of strategic business units

- To transform owner-managers into entrepreneurial business leaders

Number of participants:

The number of participants for this programme is limited to only 30.

Eligibility:

Bachelor? Degree of any statutory University or any other recognized Foreign University.

Eligibility under Industry Sponsor:

The candidate must furnish the basic eligibility criteria for applying under this category. Candidate must be working in the sponsoring company at the time of admission. The top authorities like CEO or MD must sponsor the candidate and submit a letter to that effect. The candidate shall continue his services in the sponsoring company as long as he is doing the course. The moment he leaves, his admission will also be cancelled. The candidate must give an undertaking to that effect.

For Industry Sponsor: Any company whose turnover is more than 5 crores. Preference will be given to companies having relationship with SCMHRD in terms of summer and final placements, live projects etc.

Selection Process:

Candidates will have to appear for a first round of Group Discussions. If further short-listed, they go through a Personal Interview. Each of the rounds can have independent testing panels.

Fee Structure:

 Total: Rs. 95,000 for the entire program (Payable in two installments)

To encourage and promote entrepreneurship in India, NEN and Stanford Technology Venture, USA will sponsor 50% of the fees (Rs. 50,000/-). Students from Family Business background can also apply for this sponsorship. Students who are interested should get in touch with SCMHRD Program Director immediately.

[Students can claim tax benefit for course fee under sec 35 of the IT Act, 1961]

Medium of Instruction:

English

Assessment:

A percentage system of assessment will be followed. The assessment would be completely internal i.e. there is 100% internal assessment.

Evaluation of Live Projects:

10% of the marks based on the synopsis submitted at the beginning of the semester.
40% of the marks based on weekly progress report submitted by the student.
30% of the marks based on the final report.
20% of the marks based on the final presentation and viva.

STANDARD OF PASSING:

Marks less than 50% of individual head of passing will be considered as fail.

AWARD OF P.G. CERTIFICATION:

A Post Graduation Certificate will be awarded after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate in both the two trimesters taken together. For becoming eligible for the award of degree, a student is required to obtain minimum of 50% marks overall and individually in each subject.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The programme is designed for entrepreneurs and those running family businesses. The profile of the participants of this programme will be as follows:

- All participants will have to be graduates.

- Participants are expected to be in the age group of 25-45 with some track record as budding entrepreneurs. In the case of exceptionally good candidates with great potential to be successful entrepreneurs, the age criterion will be suitably relaxed on the basis of the judgement of the selection committee.

- Candidates on the verge of beginning a new entrepreneurial venture with exceptional track record both in academics as well as in professional experience will also be considered for the course.

- Basic knowledge and comfort level in using computers is a requirement. Participants must have familiarity and experience in using e-mails and the internet, either at home or at office on a regular basis.

Course registration and starting dates:

The programme will commence on July 23, 2008.

Classes will be held 3 days a week, between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
