Summer Placements

In keeping with the trend of the markets recovering from the slowdown, the Summer Internship Placements at SCMHRD also saw a good response from the industry. Both regular recruiters and some new entrants saw the number of companies on campus better the previous year’s count and take the tally to a remarkable 67.

Some of the big names on campus this year were Deloitte, GSKCH, JJMI, JPMC, ITC, ACC, Idea, Dabur, Mahindra & Mahindra and Perfetti Van Melle. The first time recruiters included Ferrero India, Citibank, CRISIL, Kimberly Clark, Henkel, Whirlpool, Yes Bank and TATA Fiat to name a few.

The batch of 180 students was placed across diverse industry sectors as shown below, with the bulk of them interning in the BFSI sector and FMCG sectors.

The students were received well by the industry and while most of the students were given opportunities to work on live projects, some of the project recommendations are being implemented. This is truly a tribute to the efforts of the students and once again reiterates the true potential and caliber of SCMHRD students.

In recognition to this commendable effort of our students, we received the ‘Best Functional Project’ award in the functions of Marketing and Finance at GSK Consumer Healthcare. Also, in most companies our students were recommended to make presentations to the senior leadership.

Another testimony to the quality of the students is evident by the inflow of PPIs. Even at this early juncture in the Placement Season, SCMHRD students have already secured PPIs from companies like HUL, JPMC, Johnson & Johnson Medical, Titan and eClerx and we sincerely believe that this is just the beginning.

In all, the internship experience has given a platform to all the students to apply the concepts and theories that they were exposed to in the Institute. It was an eye-opener for many in terms of the amount of corporate exposure and business sense it inculcated. A memorable and enriching experience!

Final Placements

Emerging strong from the year of recession, SCMHRD witnessed a good placement season with a large number of regular as well as new recruiters visiting campus for talent acquisition.

The final placement season began on an encouraging note as reputed firms from across sectors corroborated SCMHRD’s claim of nurturing world class talent by rolling out pre-placement offers to a sizeable number of students across specializations.

Come final placements, attractive profiles were offered to students in various sectors like FMCG, BFSI, Manufacturing, IT, Pharmaceuticals etc. Securing 100% placements for the batch of 185, the season ended with an average offer of 1.03 per student.

Some of the major recruiters included Deloitte Consulting, Dabur, Essar, GSK Consumer, Godrej Industries, HUL, ITC, JP Morgan Chase, Johnson and Johnson Medical India, John Deere, Kellogg’s, Wipro etc, reaffirming the faith of corporate world in SCMHRD talent.

A host of new recruiters like AT Kearney, Daimler, Yes Bank, Hope India, to name a few was the highlight of the recruitment season.
